The Ayurveda Guide To Better Sleep
Heard the old saying "Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise"? Well, according to Ayurveda - a good night's sleep is one of the most important things that you can do to ensure good living. We all want that, and we have made it simple through this guide.
If you find yourself tossing and turning at night, struggling to fall asleep, you are unable to find a proper and effective sleep routine; your answers lie in Ayurveda. The 5,000-year-old holistic rituals offer all-natural solutions to combat whatever sleep issues you may be facing, ensuring a deeper, more restorative sleep experience.
To help you work through this guide easier, Spa Ceylon offers a luxurious range of products designed and curated to improve your sleep as well as encourage more restful downtime. The Sleep Intense Range boasts a variety of products that can be used both at home or on-the-go, there is something here for everyone. Check it out.
1. A Routine Is Important
One thing you can do to start is pay attention to your circadian rhythm; Ayurveda does honour this cycle when it comes to sleep - wake up when the sun rises, go to bed after the sun sets. If you have trouble falling asleep at night, take a nice, soothing shower with the Spa Ceylon Sleep Intense Relaxing Body Cleanser and start getting ready for bed. Make sure your room is at a comfortable temperature for you to sleep. With that being said, make sure you have the a blanket or pillow that will keep you tucked in throughout the night without any trouble. To elevate your space, use the Spa Ceylon Sleep Intense Dream Essence Mist to promote dreamy and restful sleep.
2. Intentionally Wind-Down
After a long day, all you want to do is sleep, understandably. What will make the difference between you feeling rested the next morning and you feeling groggy the next morning, is how you wind down before bed. We all need some time to relax, and to decompress after our days. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to winding down. You could unplug after you get home; avoid your devices and blue light, keep your phone away from you after dinner. Alternatively, you could read your favourite book - read a chapter or two, and naturally fall asleep. Or, you could take some time to indulge in calming breath work. Use Spa Ceylon's Sleep Calming Balm as support - apply the balm finely on your temples, behind your ears, the back of your neck and on your palms. Bring your palms up to your face and gently inhale - counting down from 10. Practice gratitude and mindfulness through it and you will find yourself to be much calmer and in a 'zen' state.
3. A Foot Massage Is Key
Did you know that there are over 7,000 nerve endings on each foot? A foot massage will help loosen up your entire your body and will also help you relax after a day of work. Start off with a bath soak - the Spa Ceylon Sleep Bath Soak is a blend of herbs, minerals and essential oils that promote deep relaxation and restful sleep. All you need to do is pour 2 table spoons into running bath water, and soak for 15 minutes. Those 15 minutes will prepare you for an uninterrupted, restful night of sleep. After your bath, you can also apply the Spa Ceylon Sleep Intense Soothing Body Elixir all over your body - focusing on your feet, to balance and relax the senses before bed.Follow our guide to better sleep, and let us know how it works for you as well as your favourite product from the Sleep Intense range!
